Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the RupeeSafe mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App.

1. License Grant and Restrictions

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on your mobile device strictly for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to:

• Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by applicable open-source licenses.
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App or its design tokens.
• Distribute the App on any platform other than official app stores (e.g., Google Play Store) or official source repositories.

2. No Financial, Investment, or Legal Advice

RupeeSafe is a personal expense tracking tool. The calculations, aggregations, and suggestions provided by the App are:

• For Informational Purposes Only: The App uses automated on-device SMS parsing to categorize and log transactions. While we strive for accuracy, SMS formatting varies and parsing errors may occur.
• Not Professional Financial Advice: You should not rely on the App for making critical financial, tax, or investment decisions. Always verify transaction histories and account balances directly with your bank statements or a certified financial advisor.

3. Privacy and Data Handling

Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to the processing of data in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

4. User Content and Local Backups

You retain all ownership rights to any data you enter, import, or scan in the App.

• Local Ownership: Your transaction data belongs to you. Since the App operates entirely offline, we do not host, access, copy, or monitor your data.
• Manual Backups: The App provides a feature to export encrypted backup files. You are solely responsible for exporting, storing, and securing these backup files. If you lose your backup files or decryption passwords, we cannot recover them.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE FREE OF ERRORS, OR FUNCTION UNINTERRUPTED.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPERS OF RUPEESAFE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
• ANY ACCIDENTAL LOSS, DELETION, OR CORRUPTION OF YOUR TRANSACTION DATABASE.
• ANY PARSING MISTAKES OR INACCURATE CATEGORIZATIONS OF BANK OR SMS NOTIFICATIONS.

7. Intellectual Property

The logos, visual design elements, icons, layout systems, and code components of RupeeSafe are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of India and foreign countries. The developers reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the latest update at the top of these Terms. By continuing to access or use our App after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
